Fear of infection with the corona virus (Covid-19) among university students

Abstract:

The coronavirus pandemic has caused many psychological disorders and problems; the most important of them are fear, boredom, psychological loneliness, anxiety and others. The study aimed at Arabizing and codifying the scale of fear of the Corona pandemic and verifying its validity and stability among university students, with the aim of identifying the effect of gender and age on fear of the Corona virus (Covid-19). The sample size was 400 university students of both sexes from New Valley University and Minya University, and they answered the scale of fear of the Corona pandemic (Arabization and legalization of the researcher). The results resulted in the scale’s vocabulary enjoying an acceptable degree of stability and validity. The scale can be used to diagnose fear of the Corona pandemic in particular. And to identify the rate of spread among university students, and to compare the level of fear of the Corona virus between the sexes (males versus females). The results of the study concluded that there are statistically significant differences in the fear of corona that are attributed to gender only and not to the university.
